What Truck Licence Class is Right For Me?

Below is the perfect quick-guide for choosing which class of Truck Licence you will need as well as if you are eligible for that class of licence.

This guide is intended for those who currently do not hold a Heavy Vehicle Licence.

To be eligible for a Light Rigid or Medium Rigid Truck Licence, you will need to have held your class C Licence for a minimum of 12 months, (this does not include the time spent on your learner licence).

You must currently hold a minimum of a P2 Licence (Green P’s) to be eligible.

Medium Rigid 8t+ 2 Axles Yes, up to 9 tonnes

To be eligible for a Heavy Rigid Truck Licence, you will need to have held your class C Licence for a minimum of 2 Years (this does not include the time spent on your learner licence).

You must currently hold a minimum of a P2 Licence (Green P’s) to be eligible.
